Question:

When importing a Safety Data Transfer the following message appears:

 

 

What is the resolution?

Solution:

If you also open the file Import-Exception.txt in the folder where the MSM or OSM resides there will be a corresponding entry:

 

dd/mm/yyyy Import number nn from the Office Ship/Site (nnn) was not in the new format. Transfer rejected and deleted.

 

The reason for this is there is an incompatibility  between the office and vessel systems. If you see the message on the vessel system then you need to upgrade the office and if you see this in the office you need to upgrade the vessel.

 

In either the MSM or OSM perform the following:

File -> Database Upgrade

(The option will not be there is the system has been upgraded)

 

Then resend the files that would not import.
